Who operates Maskr
Maskr is provided by Feature Space AB (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the Maskr application and this website.
Face detection, not recognition
Maskr uses on-device technology to locate faces in a photo so that you can cover them with a visual mask. Maskr does not perform face recognition, identify specific people, create biometric identity profiles, or compare identities across photos.
Photos and on-device processing
Face detection, selection, masking, and image rendering take place on your device. Maskr does not send your photos or videos to a server operated by Feature Space AB for processing.
You choose which photos to import and which edited copies to save or share. Exporting creates a new copy; Maskr does not alter the original imported photo.
Photos permission
Maskr requests access to your Photos library to let you select images and save edited results. The scope of access depends on the permission you grant through Apple’s system controls. You can change this permission at any time in your device Settings.
Local project storage
Maskr stores editable project information on your device so you can reopen your work, change masked faces, revert edits, and export again. A project can include the imported image, the current edited image, face-area coordinates, masking choices, project title, and related technical identifiers.
Private iCloud backup
When you are signed in to iCloud and the service is available, Maskr may back up and synchronize editable projects through Apple CloudKit. This can include project image copies and the project information described above.
The data is stored in the private database associated with your Apple Account. Feature Space AB does not operate a separate media-storage server for this feature. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policies.
Information we do not collect
Maskr does not include advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking, or a developer-operated user account system. We do not sell personal information or use your photos to train artificial-intelligence models.
This website
This website uses necessary browser storage to remember your cookie preference and keep the site working as expected. Optional Google Analytics may be used only if you accept analytics cookies. Analytics is off by default, and you can change your choice later from the Cookie settings button in the footer.
The website does not use advertising trackers, cross-app tracking, contact forms, or third-party fonts. If you email us, we receive the address and information you choose to include and use it only to respond to your request and maintain appropriate business records.
Deleting your information
You can delete individual projects from the Maskr Library. You can also remove the app and manage app data associated with your iCloud account using the controls Apple provides. Copies you previously exported to Photos must be deleted separately from your Photos library.
Children’s privacy
Maskr is a general-purpose photo privacy tool and is not directed at collecting personal information from children. The app does not require an account and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Maskr’s features or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will show when the current version took effect. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel.
